PERFORMANCE
A 5.7 litre V8 for power when you need it
Road condition response control
The LX 570's electronically controlled six-speed sequential automatic transmission was developed to efficiently manage the vehicle's vast reserves of power. Artificial Intelligence Shift Control minimises unnecessary upshifts when climbing hills or on winding roads. For greater control on steep descents, the transmission automatically downshifts to increase the engine braking.
Maintain vehicle posture and control
The LX 570 has coil-spring suspension with adaptive variable-rate
dampers. You can vary the ride height of the vehicle using a
switch on the centre console. The suspension system's Anti-Dive
Control and Anti-Squat Control help maintain vehicle posture
under braking and acceleration.
It also has Roll-Posture Control to improve stability and control
during cornering, as well as Vehicle-Speed Sensitive Control of
the dampers, which helps increase comfort at low speeds and
maintain vehicle posture at high speeds.
Avoid roll-back with Hill-start Assist Control
Keep your grip
With all four wheels driving at all times, it's important to
ensure the correct amount of driving effort is applied to each.
The centre TORSEN™ Limited Slip Differential adjusts the
driving effort between the front and rear wheels to maximise
traction depending on your driving situation.
If any wheel starts to spin due to muddy or slippery conditions,
Active Traction Control applies braking force, allowing the other
wheels with more grip to drive you forward. In more challenging
conditions, 5 stage Crawl Control2 maintains a slow, steady
rate of progress, leaving you free to concentrate on steering the
vehicle, while a turn assist function enhances drivability on
tight corners.
Tackle different terrains with confidence
Multi-terrain Select (MTS) is designed to give the LX 570 superior ground covering performance across different driving conditions. Select from the five road condition modes of Rock, Rock & Dirt, Mogul, Loose Rock and Mud & Sand. Depending on the road conditions, the system optimally controls wheel spin which gives excellent performance on high bumpy roads, slippery roads and steep hills.
Suspension, height and steering to suit all driving situations
Adaptive Variable Suspension intelligently senses the terrain and tailors the damper settings for a smoother, more responsive ride. Active Height Control automatically adjusts to suit your driving and the terrain. It rises for greater ground clearance over rocky terrain, when in L4, and automatically lowers above 100km/h in highway driving. If you prefer, you can set the ride height with the touch of a switch.
Finally, the power assisted Variable Gear Ratio Steering gives you maximum assistance with the vehicle turning rate to help when parking. It adjusts for precise steering with excellent response and road feel at higher speeds.
Footnotes
1. Hill Start Assist Control is designed to help
minimise backward rolling on steep accents. It is not a substitute
for safe driving judgement and practices. Factors including grade,
surface conditions and driver input can all affect whether Hill
Start Assist Control will be effective in preventing a loss of
control. Please see your owner's manual for further details.
2. Crawl Control with Turn Assist is a driver
assist technology and should not be used as a substitute for safe
driving practices. The area into which the vehicle is to be driven
must be visually monitored by the driver.
