To ensure crisp response at all engine speeds, Lexus created the world's first Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and Electric inlet valve timing system. The system continually monitors the engine's speed and load, and optimises its breathing to suit the driving conditions. This ensures you get maximum power and improved fuel economy¹.

The lightweight eight speed automatic transmission is designed to improve performance and fuel efficiency. Artificial Intelligence Shift Control selects the optimum shift pattern to suit your driving style and road conditions. Alternatively, you can take control by switching to sequential shifting mode.

The LS 460 has air suspension rather than conventional coil springs, with a button on the centre console that can raise the height of the vehicle as required. You can fine tune the suspension settings to suit your preferred level of ride comfort and handling with Adaptive Variable Suspension - 'Sport' for tight responsive handling, 'Normal' for everyday driving, or 'Comfort' for a luxuriously smooth ride.

The LS 460 Sport model adds a sporting performance kick to the exceptionally smooth and confident LS driving experience. Touch the start button in the LS 460 Sport and grip the premium steering wheel. In Drive and sequential shifting modes, gear selection is right at your fingertips via the race-inspired paddle shifters.

The highly responsive eight speed automatic transmission upshifts in just 0.3 seconds. Sequential shifting mode allows you to maximise the power reserves of the LS 460 Sport engine. Decelerate and Blipping Downshift Control Logic briefly blips the throttle between gears to prepare the transmission for gearshifts, executed in a lightning fifth of a second. Artificial Intelligence Shift Control optimises the transmission during cornering and hill climbs.

On the LS 460 Sport, the spring constant of the front and rear pneumatic springs is increased to reduce body roll on tight turns. Thicker stabiliser bars on the front and rear help ensure flatter, more stable cornering.

Lexus teamed with leading supplier Brembo^TM to jointly develop an advanced braking system for the LS 460 Sport. Large 380mm ventilated front discs with six -piston callipers and 334mm rear discs provide superior stopping performance. High friction brake pads further enhance brake feel and anti-brake fade.
